The Session: It could be said that BSA, as it exists today, may be driving legitimate customers out of the banking system. This engaging session will provide an overview, the impact of BSA rules and proposed changes by the Financial Services Committee. Our speaker will also share his experience and main points of his testimony on the matter before Congress. 


Your Speaker:  

Lloyd DeVaux is President and CEO of Sunstate Bank, Florida. His experience in the financial services industry expands over 25 years and includes roles as COO at BankAtlantic and City National Bank of Florida as well as CIO and SEVP at Union Planters Corporation in Memphis, Tennessee. Experience in the corporate sector includes positions in the finance function with Kirchman Corporation in the Czech Republic and IBM in Orlando, Florida. Prior to this, he worked in the oil industry for Schlumberger Limited in Louisiana, London, Holland, Abu Dhabi, and Yemen. 

Mr. DeVaux currently serves on boards including the Florida Bankers Association Board and Executive Committee, the President’s Leadership Council at Rollins College, and the Dellenbach Foundation; and has served on or chaired a number of boards in the past including the Florida Bankers BancServ Board. He has also provided testimony to Congress regarding proposed changes to BSA. 

Mr. DeVaux is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s OPM Executive Program and the BAI Graduate School of Banking in Finance. He earned his Masters of Business Administration from Rollins College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Buffalo.
